Nappy Rash

27 January 2020/in Baby /by PersonalChemist

Nappy Rash

Its the inflammation, which appears as red, things get red when they get warmer. Rub your hands and they will get red and warm. So it’s a case of contact and friction.

Baby bum only comes in contact with nappy or the poo inside, both of them have to be reduced or ideally removed for as long as possible.

Leave the baby without nappy for as long as possible, allow the bum skin to breathe fresh air.

Understanding

If skin around nappy area and bum gets too inflamed or blistered – if it appears to be white-fungal then you can purchase remedies and medicines.

There are too many barrier creams to prevent skin contact with poo. They all work to reduce but not necessarily increase healing, that takes time.

If baby has had diaorrhea or anti-biotic treatment recently and rash is not improving then get in touch with us.

Take Action

Take a photo of your baby’s affected issue or we can do a direct video call to your baby, whichever is easier for the littlen.

We will give expert independent consultation, with diagnosis.

Our Pharmacists always asks the list of medicines/remedies you have in home so you do not spend money buying same/similar unknowingly which is of no help to you.

Where a referral is needed to GP or other services, we will provide a referral note so you will not have to repeat everything again.
