18 January 2021/in Pregnancy /by PersonalChemist

Flu Jab in Pregnancy

If you are pregnant you will be offered a flu jab by your GP or midwife.

That can be confusing as mostly all medicines are not encouraged during Pregnancy, so is it safe and does it work ?

The simple answer is yes its safe during pregnancy and we encourage you to have it as it does work.

It is safe and recommended insurance against flu complications.

Understanding

Since the Flu Jab itself is safe and effective the risks of not having Flu Jab are considerably high – specially in Pregnancy.

Flu is never easy at any point in life for anyone, it can even be more troublesome during Pregnancy. If you develop flu or its complications it can be harmful to the baby.

So, its best to avoid developing flu and the best protection available is a flu jab.
