NHS eRD enables GPs to issue advance prescriptions until the next review date.

E.g; If your review is 6 months away, your GP will issue 6 months’ prescription in a single step – which means for the next 6 months;

1. You don’t request prescriptions from GP
2. Your GP doesn’t have to sign prescriptions.
3. Your Pharmacy can stock your medicines.
4. You collect medicines from Pharmacy.

Everyday GP practices issue around 400 prescriptions per practice for regular medicines.

With NHS eRD, they will not have to issue that many every day – saving 500 minutes of GP time for your Surgery per day!
